Well now that you mention it,I have tried a GEO alt.That was what I tried to replace the one that was already on then tractor when I got it.Still too big,even with the alt up against the block.Although the hood was allmost all the way dowm,I couldnt get the hood clip to reach the part it grabs.I do have a regulator on the generator that is on there now and I put out between 5 and 20 amps,depending on the rpms.but it stops reading when the battery is charged and comes back on when for instance I turn the lights on.Heres a pic of my I-4 before I put the generator on.BTW I tell people the I means "IN RESTORATION".
