Terry: Like the others I remember my dad doing the same with an H but only in emergencies of power outage. By then our cows were used to milking machine, and sitting in with pail and hand milking was dangerous. As I recall the vacume from the H wasn't the best solution either. Dad was normally using 3 milking units and could only use one with the H. He soon found a Briggs gas engine to run the regular vacume pump in emergencies. Remember also you can't just plug the unit to the tractor manifold, you will also need the vacume control unit.
