Dan, I have seen both Farmall 'H" and "M" in industrial configurations, However, I don't remember them displaying anything other than the Farmall insignia, unlike the "A-I", "B-I", "I-4", "I-6", and "I-9" models which displayed the International insignia. The "H" amd "M" were used for roadgraders, as well as other road construction, industrial, and military applications. Guy Fay's book is right in that IH would paint them any color the customer wanted. Some state, county and cities would have them painted the same as their other equipment, and in some areas, one could tell if the tractor belonged to the city, county, or state, depending in the color. they used yellow, goldenrod, many orange colors, grey, Ma Bell green, and just about any other obnoxious color one could think of. The Military used Olive Drab green, a sand tan, and battle ship grey among other colors. Guy Fay may better answer as to whether the "H" or "M" deviated from the Farmall name. If you wanted to be creative and make a true industrial, the "International" emblem on the "I-4" and "I-6" will replace the Farmall hood emblem on the "H" or "M" respectivly. I'm sure the same goes for the "International" hood decals replacing the Farmall, if you wanted it that way.

This method of starting proved more than adequate and kept the cost down on the unit. It had all the important
