I did it the hard way on my SM. I took the whole thing apart, the only thing I left was the trans, axle housing and axles together and supported, then went to town grinding that section with a wire brush. Damn tedious. All the other parts with the exception of the front axle/steering support went to the media blaster, including the rear wheel hubs. Man the blasting guy wasn't real happy about that ;0) Then a light coat of primer, and 3 coats of IH 2150 red. I added 1 ounce of hardner, and 1/2 ounce reducer to every quart and it came out really nice. I painted all the pieces separately, then assembled and used my touch up gun to do the bolts, came out great. I replaced about 3/4 of the bolts, I used the original ones on the engine, I just wire brushed them nice and clean, another tedious job. The engine was completely rebuilt and all the pieces where hot tanked inside and out. Bottom line is that tractor looks so clean and "RED" no matter where you look. And I feel a whole lot better knowing that rust was blasted off on every piece. Brian
