John, Try replacing the spark plugs first. Sounds like one or more of them is fouled. With the new plugs, if it runs ok, start looking at the exhaust. If the smoke is black, it's running too rich and the carb needs some adjusting or maybe an overhaul if you can't get it to run right. If the smoke is bluish-white it's using oil and rings will be needed sometime in the future, but I would keep using it until it got really bad. If there's no noticeable smoke, I guess you just needed to give her some attention :o). Phil P.S. I forgot to mention to do all the checking after she's fully warmed up.
