The starter generator from a cub cadet tractor is 12 volt and unless your lo-boy has been converted to 12 volt, this will not work. If your machine has a 12 volt system, then that piece would work for a GENERATOR ONLY!!! You would use the factory starter to start the machine. The way a starter generator works, is when the electrical current flows through it in one direction, it acts as an electric motor, but when the direction of the electricity is reversed, then it acts as a generator. Hope this helps!!!! Best of luck. Kippster
