Jeff, the slotted end of the shaft is actually a threaded stub. It can be removed either with a pipe wrench on the OD or piece of key stock/pry bar in the slot and a whack with a hammer. It has standard threads and will unscrew right out of the end of the transmission countershaft. Next, remove the 3-bolt seal housing. Carefully replace the seal in the housing and reassemble. Don't worry about getting the stub too tight. The load from driving the pump tightens it back up.
