Mike,there are 3 shafts in this transmission main shaft with all the gears on it has a snap ring located near the rear bearing you will need a puller between the bearing cage and the bevel pinion to remove.Next is the countershaft NOTE.The ipto extension shaft must be removed to service the counter shaft.There is a rear bearing retainer strap located below the transmission main shaft bevel gear.NOTE when you drive out the countershaft block the gears or you will screw them up. The only snap rings in this transmission are on the rear main shaft and the rear counter shaft.You may have been dealing with a inexperenced counter man and have the wrong bearing.Hope this helps.Paul.
