Kim: The advantage to doing this both ways gives good options. If I for example have not been online at YT forums for say 24 hours. I will first check any notifications, second all new postings. The title may not always sugest a particular thread is something one can get their teeth into. You check the opening post of any the title does not clarify this. I then decide where I can be most helpful. If one has to bring up the whole thread it slows things a lot. If time permits I do go through them all. I also make a practice of looking for genuine questions, that for some reason never get a responce. If I remotely know anything on that subject, I try and get something going on that. I think it is a shame some of these do get missed. Particularly if the person is a first timer. I think we should do more make sure that first timer does not go un noticed. IF I think back to the first time I ever posted on YT forums, had no one responded, how long would it have been before I came back? May be never. It takes a certain amount of intestinal fortitude to come on here and subject your questions or views for the scrutiny of these guys. I personally think we as a group should elect a committee to welcome and make sure these new people don't get left out. That committee could also be, now that you have disclosure, alerted when a new person comes along. Not so much to fall all over them with a welcome , just make sure they feel welcome, by making sure they get answers. Just my thoughts.

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
