All SM had Disk brakes. The very last Ms had same disk brakes as SM. Disk brakes were available for early Ms but they are different fron SM brakes some say they were dealer installed option but they were serviced by IH and are in parts book. Saw 1947 M at auction today with early disks the difference on outside is that cover is solid casting while SM and later type have renovable plug in center of casting.
