Rich - The warning light works like the alternator idiot light in most cars: Lights up if the ign is "on" and the battery is NOT being charged. Otherwise the light remains dark. And you are correct about the resistance of the warning light - it eliminates the need for a blocking diode in the circuit. ...Bob M
