My advice would be, 1. set the head on, 2. torque to spec, 3 put push rods in and rocker arm assembly on and forget the bent bolts (get new ones), 4 torque to spec, 5 set valve clearance, 6 slap valve cover assembly on, 7 If the alternater brackets are screwy (make new ones). Don't make life any harder than it needs to be (which means don't put up with any extra bull????). Just my 2 cents.
