I had an H a year ago. I checked the following things, Check engine compression should be better than 85 Psi per cylinder. Make sure it runs and drives good. make sure the trans mission shifts in all gears, 1 reverse and 5 forward....remember that 5th gear is 15mph, a little scary on a farmall H with no seat belts. Look for leaks in the engine and trans, start it cold, look for welds in the block and trans check fluid levels ask questions like, when was the last time engine oil was changed, check the tire condition too. Let it run for a while and restart hot. This should help.
