It's sometimes hard to tell if all cylinders are firing when an engine is idling. You can pull the wires off the distributer cap or plugs one at a time and see if the engine runs any different. If you pull off a wire and it doesn't change how the engine runs, then you know that cylinder wasn't firing. I use pliers with insulated handles as I have been kicked before doing this. I also would try 4 new plugs, maybe distributer cap and rotor also depending on how the old ones look. Maybe plug wires also. Those parts aren't too expensive and then you'll at least know those parts are good. Good luck. Dave.
