H transmission oil

I recently bought an old H at auction and am tinkering with it from time to time on a gradual path to restoration. The gearbox had alot of water and sludge in it so I drained it and flushed it with diesel a couple of times. My question is: Since the diesel ran out of both axle seals and the input seal, am I probably going to need to replace those, is the gear oil thats supposed to be there thick enough, and is the oil level supposed to be up to the axles, and if not, how much.
