wardner thanks for the info. sure enough the missing one goes behind the cam gear. the problem is i already have have the cam,oil pump, vavles flywheel etc. installed and the engine is mounted on the tractor. is there anyway i could get that plug in without taking apart the engine? is it possible to take the cam gear loose without removing the cam? is it possible to turn in the tappets and loosen the cam and just slide it forward an inch or 2 with out removing the valves? I would appreciate any thoughts to correct this thanks Mike
