Paul, I believe Randy is right. I rebuilt the unit on my M, but removed complete unit because of leak between unit and trans. Remove the 3 bolts from bearing cage behind pulley mounting flange on shaft. Use a slide hammer fastened to pulley shaft to remove the shaft. With shaft out, remove gear,brg.,spacer from shaft. Bearing cage will then slide off of shaft. A snap-ring holds brg. in cage, remove ring and brg. & you can then get seal out. While replacing seal it's a good idea to replace felt washer too. Hope this helps.
