If the battery takes a charge and starts the tractor, you can look at the Ammeter and see if the needle is on the "+" side when the tractor is running at half throttle. If it is, current should be flowing to your battery. If you put a volt meter across the battery terminals, when the tractor is running, it should read 7 to 7.5 volts. If the battery is going dead after sitting for a couple days, you might have a small short that is draining the battery. See if the Ammeter needle is a little on the "-" side when the tractor is off. Be careful. When you charge the battery, hydrogen gas will be produced and if you create any spark, it can easily explode, showering you (and the tractor) with sulfuric acid and plastic shards. Wear safety glasses at a minumum. Read the cautions in the Operator's Manual. At any rate, re-charging the battery probably won't fix the charging system on your tractor.
