1. The 450G has a little more hp. 2. The 400D fast hitch will not go on the 450G without changing rear frame lid. You may need to add another hydraulic valve to 450 if it only has two. The 450 fast hitch will fit both tractors. 3. Power steering is nice. It can be retrofitted to 400. 4. Fast hitch is nice but you can put a three point on either. 5. The 400 fast hitch is better than the 450 fast hitch. 6. Diesel parts can be had but are expensive. 7. Installing a fast hitch shouldn't take more than 2 hours. Yes, old style drawbar has to come off. Fast hitch has it own. You can even get a swinging draw bar for it. 8. My preference would be the 400D because I don't have a diesel in that size. If you are going to work your tractor, go diesel. Cheaper to run. 9. Buy both and build one to suit yourself. Sell the other one. I had to add PS, FH, Tach, and 15.5 x 38 rubber to my F400G.
