When Ih started using push button starting, 300's 400's That is when the I/ignition terminal was used. As far as a 6or 12 volt starter, the Delco Parts book lists the one on my M for either voltage. Only problem I have ever had was one morning itwas 20 below when I tried to start my M it snapped the end off the shaft between the bendix and the armature.
