As has been pointed out, it could be either fuel or ignition. Check your spark (by pulling a wire and seeing what spark jumping to ground looks like) before running the engine. Run it until it quits then immediately look at the spark again. If it is about the same, that isn't the problem. If it has gotten a lot weaker, one of the ignition problems mentioned is probably the problem. Another test is to run it until it starts to quit and then carefully squirting a little starting fluid into the intake. Only use a little, it goes a long way. If the engine picks up, the problem is fuel. If so, one of the mentioned ares may be the problem. It could also be a problem with the float or float valve. If the tractor looks generally like an A, it might also be a Cub. The Cub serial plate is located near the steering gear. The tractor would look like one of the pictures on the page linked below.
