bearings are available in .001 and .002 oversize, I would put the original rod and cap on one of the journals, along with the bearings that came out and plastigauge them, I am just finishing up mine, when I checked the original bearings I had about .004 with the plastigauge, so I ordered the .002 bearings, thus putting my clearance between the .002 and .003 that is called for. Ideally the best thing to do is have the crank machined and start al over, But I too did not want to pull the motor in order to machine the crank, I was just replacing pistons liners and rings.
