Those disk brakes are pretty simple. To adjust simply loosen the locknut then tighten the actuating bolt at the bottom of the brake pedal (right side) or the brake cross shaft (left side). Tighten the bolt until you’ve got about 1” to 1-1/2” of free play at each pedal, and both pedals push down the same amount. More than likely however the disks have worn out, become oil-soaked or both. They are easy to remove/replace. Simply remove the actuating bolt, take out 5 bolts holding the brake cover to the transmission and pull the cover off. The outer disk will then pull right of the spline. Then pull out the center plate assembly, then the inner disk. If there’s any question about the condition of the disks, simply replace them with new. Figure $90 - $100 for a full set of 4 disks. If you find any oil inside the brake, now is the time to on replace the spline shaft seal. The seal is easily (and inexpensively…) replaced without going inside the transmission. Good luck!
