B250 smokes???

i just bought a 1958 b250 , i changed all the fluids and oil filter (not the fuel filter yet)
is there supposed to be an air filter in the can?
also i have ran 2 tanks uf fuel with conditioner through it but it smokes alot even when idling . is that normal. (it relives in eastern ontario) any help would be great thanks
