Bummer. By low side of the red area, do you mean zero oil pressure ? If so, I would check it with another gauge calibrated in psi to see if they agree. You might have a new bad gauge.

My H has the pointer about in the middle of the gauge at idle, hot. I am using 10W40 also.

If you run any engine with very low oil pressure, you could wind up with your own exploded view of the motor.
