Painted a couple myself and done what I thought was a super job. Meaning I spent alot of time on it. Wished I would of spent a little extra money and used the best of the best for the paint. But never the less I done the paint prep, disassembly, and assembly myself and was really time consuming. $650 would of been in the ball park for the amount of time I spent on mine. If your buddy simply only done the actual spraying of the paint, sounds like you got took.
