Well I finally got to put the 454 to work tonight, started brush hogging the pasture. Everything was going pretty good till going up a hill, the trans made a loud whine and locked up...... pushed the clutch and it sat....both the gear lever and range lever were stuck fast. Pumped the clutch a few more times and got the gear lever to move then it took off backward. Shut it down and looked for something to be bound but found nothing. Fired the tractor back up and it worked great, 3 passes later on the same hill it wined real quick and locked, as soon as I hit the clutch it freed up and kept going forward. Figured that was enuf and headed to the barn, got almost there and it did it again... (on a slight grade). Any ideas?? Thanks!
