If you have battery ignition, and a 6 volt positive ground system you can run a jumper from the battery negative post to the negative coil primary terminal. If your system is negative ground, it will be positive post to positive terminal on the coil. Your system should be positive ground if it is 6 volt but many got switched over the years. If it is 12 volt, it will be negative ground so run positive to positive. As usual, when by-passing any component, use extreme caution. You could temporarily stick a toggle switch into the dashboard and wire it. There are only 2 connections.
