Hi Hugh, Yep, I agree. We used to pull a 6 row Lilliston cultivator with the 656D and I would measure the fuel consumption. It would pull all summer long using 1.9gph. I never measured it years ago when we used the tractor for plowing, but I would guess 4 to 4.5gph would be the high side; and we plow fairly deep here. The nice thing about these tractors was that you didn't have to fill up at noon. Just keep right on a-goin. Later on, we bought a 966 for a plow tractor and a 766 as a second-tillage unit. Those two were a perfect match to each other and worked well together. But, and I also notice it with this 310, the direct injected engines just seem to be noisier to me. Allan
