Allen: I worked a sandy loam soil thus pulled a 5x16 semi-mount with 656. I did ocasionally use 1066 but found it just cost me more to plow. 25% faster burning 3 times the fuel. Don't get me wrong 1066 was a good tractor, but only when it was loaded to the limit. 1066 was usually spreading manure when I wanted to plow anyhow. I usually did only 4 different jobs on farm with 1066, 12 ton manure spreader, forage harvester, 25' cultivator and a 20' disk with 20" plates. Interesting thing about tractors IH 06 and 56 very fuel effecient, 66 and 86 lost that. I had a 100 hp Deere a 75 model very fuel efficent. Then in the next line of Deeres they lost it. I don't know what it is about design engineers, they just don't get that word efficiency. When I learned to drive a car my dad had a 57 Chevy that gave 27 miles to the Canadian gallon. Today I have a Buick LeSabre that gives me 27 miles to the Canadian gallon. My dad hauled a ton of feed home from the feed store piled on the fins of his 57 Chevy. I wouldn't want to try that with this Buick. Today that would trouble some pickups. Progress is grand.

Top that off with an old set of '36 Ford headlight shells bolted to the hood. Pretty unlikely for a car... but for a tractor, this is pretty normal. It seems that more often than not they a
