Under a heavy load or accelleration though, it runs great. Have ruled out carb and mag issues. I lapped the valves when initially overhauled, but tonight, the head is coming off again to have the valve system professionally rebuilt, as my issues are pointing towards that end of the engine. Question: when your tractor is running irratically, can you hear a light popping sound thru the inlet of the carb at the same moment that it misses? That's my clue to a head issue. Will keep you an all others informed as to the outcome of the the head rebuild.
