Matt, Farmers can make anything work! Your plan doesn't sound all that hard to accomplish to me. But why mount the spreader on the side of the tractor instead of on a bracket out front and centered? The performance of the spreader would be better centered. You can run V belts from the pulley or remove the pulley and mount a chain sprocket to operate the spreader. Weight out front effects steering. Good luck and post pictures when you succeed. My nickel Dick Davis outrages
