I understand about the whirring sound if the TA handle is pulled back. You will be able to use it until a certain amout of pressure is put on the Ramp and roller. Then it would slip. If its doing that in direct drive you may also have another problem. Maybe the TA clutch is shot also??? dont know getting past my skill level on these ta's with that. But there are many here who know 100 times more than me. I am sure they will chime in.
