Changing to a 300 head will NOT give you that much more hp. but it will increase the compression ratio from 5.9 to approx 6.1 and you get rotors on the exhaust valves. A friend did this to his H. He installed 3 & 7/16 in sleeves and high altitude (domed) pistons. Milled about 60 thousands off the head. He said this gave him about 46 hp. and approx. 200 lbs. compression. This was with a 300 head, manifold and carburetor. Good luck.
