slight miss in engine

On my 340IH I have a slight miss at idle and when going down the road on a level grade or when going down hill. It runs fine when going up hill. I've replaced wires plugs cap rotor points condensor, checked for vacuum leaks, tinkered with carb. The only thing I have not done is checked the distributor timing. Any ideas? thanks
