Tommy, I have also heard of using the gel-coat used on fiberglass to smooth up a pitted surface. Never tried it yet, but may when I get ready to work on my C. My grill and hood have quite a bit of rust and may need some filling. Since mine is a working tractor I am just going to brush the cast parts, and rattle can paint the sheet metal. Since I had to remove the fuel tank already to clean it out I sanded the outside, and painted while it was off so it will just need another coat to "freshen" it up when I paint the rest.
