I am by no means positive but here goes. it seems you may be missing some brackets for your mower. i have an a myself and bought a mower from the steam show near me . when i bought it i was told that it was for a cub. another source told me it would work on my a but i needed to cross the belt because the pulley turned opposite the cub. now the mower came with a bracket setup that attached to the drawbar but had arms that held pulleys on each side the pulleys were ajustable as it looks to tighten belt as well as to have a different hight to cross the belt. i had seen this on some tractors but not others and didn't know why. when i was told about the difference it accured to me that i was looking at cubs and a's and didn't notice the difference as being models. hope this helps. i like to read this forum because i don't know much about the a and cub and can learn more by what others know and will tell as they have experienced. bill
