well my 460 ute has a 5 speed, and i pull a deere 307 6ft mower with it mostly in second,as for the filter on the hydraulics, you should have done that with the fluid change, can't remember how much fluid your gonna lose doing it ,it's under the football shaped cover on the right side right by your foot as you sit on the tractor and if i remember correctly its basically just a screen, but it could be plugged ,i know my hyds aren't the fastest on the planet, hey it's 40 yrs old,i'm 40 and don't run like i did 20 yrs ago.and the only problem with bigger buckets is you'll lift more and these little guys get very front heavy in a hurry,so if you do add ballast to the back wheter it be fluid in the tires or a weight box on the back.also when you do this you will notice that it won't steer very good either, thats their weak point, when i mow without the loader on it it steers great but just putting the loader back on and the steering gets kindof a cross between power and no power, then put a load in it and the easiest way to turn is backing up,
