Three-point hitch kits are available from several sources, but the best looking ones and from the experiences of several on this board, the easiest to install seem to be from Saginaw Tractor.

The weight box idea sounds pretty good to me. I would stack the wheel weights too. I would look around for short pieces of heavy cast iron or steel to put in the weight box. That way you can add/remove as required and not overload.
