Cub clutch problem

My grandfather recently had the clutch on his 1950 cub replaced. It seemed fine on return. Shifted without any grinding. After a couple hours use cutting hay I noticed a clicking with the clutch fully depressed. Clicking would stop or lessen as the clutch was released. In a matter of minutes the clicking increased and the tractor would fully engage as soon as the clutch was released. A couple of minutes later I depressed the clutch and nothing, I had to force the shifter into neutral to get it to stop. Any thoughts on the cause? clutch? throwout bearing? Any help is much appreciated.
