Whenever I have replaced any engine block for a used one or have done a complete engnie rebuild, I've made it a practice to have the replacement or rebuild block boiled out and fluxed at a local machine shop. If the existing block appears to be good as it is being stripped, save yourself some time and money.
As you will find out, 'most everything about the Farmall engine is straight forward. Both when it is being torn down and when it is being rebuilt.
