Kelly: You've crossed the line, as did IH in 1958 when they came out with these 6 cylinder gas engines. The first time I ever saw a 460 gas in 1958, I called it a dud. The quality is not there in these engines. By 1958 agriculture was moving quickly to diesel power, and that is where all the resources on engine development were going. IH probably were a bit slower than most to realiae this. On the quality item, I wouldn't be surprised it the bare engine block of a 300 is heavier than the 460 bare engine gas block. I have only ever seen a couple of IH 6 cylinder gassers in my lifetime. Here in Canada we abandoned them very quickly because of fuel cost and efficiency. When I came to YT, some 4 to 5 years ago, one of the biggest surprises of my lifetime, was that IH actually sold the numbers of these that they did. I couldn't believe it.
