You should be able to find a good block for $200 to $300. Make sure it has been tested. Is it possible to do another repair on the block you have? A good welder could probably keep you going for a long time. It's very common to find these tractors with various repairs to the blocks. As for a Super C motor, they are not exactly the same. I have a C with a Super C motor. Most importantly, the displacement is different, so you cannot re-use your sleeves and pistons from your C's motor. Also, some Super C's used a dipstick instead of oil pan cocks. Keep in mind that the Super C also used a water pump, whereas the C used a thermo-syphon system. You can get a water pump to fit your C, however the shorter radiator on the C will make it very difficult to locate a thermostat in the proper location. Luckily I had a parts Super C that helped me "hybrid" getting a Super C engine into my C. If I had to do it again, I might have just stuck with the original motor. There is only a 3 or 4 horsepower gain with the Super C engine. I hope this helps. Good luck.

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
