Locked up w-4

I have a w-4 that had sat under an oak tree for about 8 years before I got it. I knew when I bought it that the engine was locked. My surprise came when I came back to load it and the back wheels were locked. I hoped it might be the brakes but took them apart and they were fine. Wondering if anyone has seen this before? It is obviously something internal and I have heard about the condition where condensation causes the axle bearings to rust over the years. I have got ruts in the yard from dragging it to try and loosen it up to no avail. I know it probably will have to be tore down and fixed but I was looking for a possible starting point.
