We've used the Rotella 15/40 for every diesel and gas engine we have for at least 10 years or more. Perkins 6-354 (boat), Ford Tractor with 172, AC D17 with 262, GM 6.5T and Ford Power Stroke--both in trucks. 6.5 has close to 200K on it and it still pegs the oil gauge. I believe the Rotella also has a few more API certifications too, but both oils are suitable for diesel engines in severe service.
