The mesh filter is in the housing on the suction side as posted prior. The most intricate elements of the system the pump and the control valve internal to the housing. There are 5 or more return ports to the reservoir associated with the control valve. Any additional filters you add should go in the suction line to the pump. It would seem too little too late to filter in a return line from auxilliary valves. The mesh filter in the housing on the suction side would seem sufficient.
