You might ask this on the Paint Forum on this site. Read the archives first, then ask specific questions. Basically you first remove all paint and rust. Then paint with epoxy primer, followed by acrylic enamel or acrylic urethane on the cast and small parts. Use epoxy on the sheet metal also, in combination with body filler, etc for any dents, followed by a sandable surfacer (two or more applications) then topcoat. If you use hardeners you have to have a supplied air system for the isocyanates, a cartridge mask is not enough. If you use acrylic enamel without hardener, then you can use a cartridge mask. Use paints made by PPG, Dupont, Martin Senour, Sherwin Williams, etc. These paints have very specific instructions as to how much and what kind of reducer, etc to use-- this removes the guesswork. Don"t buy "Tractor Store paint, it is synthetic enamel and will fade rapidly, unless you leave your tractor inside all the time. You can use IH 2150 from your Case-IH dealer, if you desire, the paint from the major suppliers is better. If you are unsure of your guns, to start with you can buy an inexpensive HVLP gun, might not last forever, but it will get you started. Use a water trap with our compressor, and mount it as far away from the compressor as possible, mine is about 70 feet. As I said, read the paint forum, there is a lot of information there, and several people who are knowledgeable enough to answer most of your questions.
