Hi, did you replace the big "O" ring type gasket that goes between the top of filter canister and the oil filter holder. If my memory is correct, IH would include about 3 of these "O" ring gasket and it was up to you to choose the correct one.

Also sometimes a piece of the old "O" ring would remain stuck in the groove and would require liing on your back under the filter holder assembly with a sharp pionted tool to dig it out.

Be careful about over tighening the bolt in the filter cannister as you can warp the filter holder. My brother has done this is the past.
