CNKS, that might be but!!! The one we had and several that I've driven over the years were all 12volt systems. There may have been an option to order it that way. Dad ordered ours so I don't know and it may have been for cold weather starting. I'll have to check my Red book guide when I get home it will list what was stock and optional. If I'm wrong sorry for the mistake. I know one thing, we had a 51M,53SM and a diesel SMTA and if it wasn't for the live hydraulics and power steering I'd take the old M anytime and it was stock.
