I've spent alot of time around the six-cylinder gassers, also a 686 diesel (German engine). 666 gas will be one of the least fuel-efficient tractors you could ever own, while a 666 diesel would be one of the most fuel-efficient tractors you could ever find. Figure about 5 gallons per hour no matter what with the gasser, and about 5 under a very heavy load with the diesel, probably less than 3 for light work. Wait for a nice 656, 666, or 686 diesel, you won't regret it.
